Moved In

Here is a bright morning pic of the new room - all clean and ready.
Here is an evening pic - after a nice day visiting friends - we have begun to move in! We are pleased that there is a good spot for the bed Ryan made for us - it fits perfectly!

We have paint!

We have paint! The master bedroom has been painted, floor coverings have been removed, and I am about to wash the floor. Ryan is hanging a door and then we can start using the room! We aren't going to wait for the moldings to be done - that should be pretty easy at another time. Stay tuned for more pics!

No baby news to report - we have talked to the birthmom since my last blog and she sent us more recent sonogram pictures - we are so happy to get the pictures!
Last weekend we to Litchfield to celebrate Angi's birthday.

This week Ryan and I also picked up the baby furniture - we don't have it set up yet - hopefully soon! Thanks to Kate for the truck and help moving it into our house!
This is where I am working this week (well, not literally, I am in Bar Harbor, but am actually working indoors, but you get the point).

Hopefully we will have pics to post of a newly painted master bedroom after the weekend - it is primed and ready for the first coat!

Room update

Though we don't have any new "news" to share, I thought I would post some pictures of the bedroom Ryan is working on. He is trying to get it done soon so that we can move out of the future nursery. The first picture is of "my" new closet. I am really excited to be getting such a big space for my things. Ryan put the lights in this afternoon.
The second picture shows Ryan's closet on the far wall - soon a door will replace the insulation opening on that end (I got all the doors painted last weekend, we are just waiting to get the room painted before Ryan hangs them).
This is a picture of Brinks from a few minutes ago - he likes to be equidistant to me and Ryan, so he often ends up on this rug. He has no idea what he might be in for in a few short months!
Today was the baby shower for Emily and Casey - they only have one month left!

Big News!

Ryan and I are so pleased to share that our adoption profile was picked by an expectant mother in Louisiana! We are so thrilled and excited! She is due at the beginning of May and the baby will be African American/Cajun. We have known about the match for a little while, but wanted to wait to share it until we learned more about the situation and were able to speak with the Birthmom. We spoke with her on Friday afternoon, and she sounds like such a sweet and genuine person! She told us that she is having a baby girl! We expect to receive sonogram pictures in the next few days. We are doing our best to remember the risks involved in these situations (a lot can change in two months time) but we can hardly contain our joy! Now we have to start preparing and getting the master bedroom ready so we can get the nursery setup. We will also have to start thinking about travel arrangements - we will likely be in Louisiana for at least two weeks after the baby is born for all of the necessary paperwork and waiting times.

We will share more later - we are just excited to get the good news out!

Long time no post from us! Sorry no pictures today, I am traveling for work and I don't have any new pics on my computer. My hotel room is pretty fun this week - I have two large televisions and a sort of separate living room/office space with couch and desk. Now I can watch the simpsons the way it was meant to be seen! This is a busy time at work for me right now and I will just make this a quick blog. Ryan has been working like crazy on the master bedroom (we now have closets!). I will try to post pics soon - it is going to look great! I will try to post a "real" blog soon!
