Sootie has decided that it is important for her to test the r-value of the insulation in the master bedroom. No word yet on her findings.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday we went to a surprise 50th birthday party for my mother-in-law, Marilyn.
As an additional surprise, Aunt Bobbi flew up from Maryland for the party. Here are the sisters with their mother (Nana).

No adoption news to report. We are getting antsy (though not even half way to the 6-month average wait time - how do people do it?!)

Also, we called our agency today to get an update - our profiles are now at 6 agencies (compared to 2 at the beginning). We are going to be sent out to at least one more soon. Nothing else to report - we just needed to know that we aren't at the bottom of a pile someplace, collecting dust.

Busy time

It has been awhile since my last post - I have been traveling quite a bit for work (that is the way it goes this time of year) so I haven't had much time for picture taking or posting. This picture is from 2005 and it reminded me of Spring.

We don't have any adoption news to report - last week we hit 2 months since we officially started waiting (the average is 6 months, but many people wait longer). Ryan is working hard to get the master bedroom done so that we can have a room ready when the time comes. I am trying to do all of the mental planning that I can and a little shopping so that when we get the call, I will feel more prepared. That is about all we can do at this point! That and think Spring.

Bedroom

Ryan made some major progress on the master bedroom this weekend - he is mostly done with sheetrock and is getting to the mudding. I am so excited! We still need closets and doors (where the extra insulation is piled will be a door), but it is really coming together!

No adoptions news - we will pass it along when we get it!

Brinks loves getting mail from his pal Sam!

Chair

It has been awhile siince I posted, so I thought I would post this picture of Ryan. We were shopping for something else, but I couldn't resist this picture. Luckily we didn't take the chair home.
