11 months

Lizzie is 11 months old today!

Finally warm enough to hang out the laundry again! This was from last weekend - we have significantly less snow now (thank goodness - it is spring, afterall!):

Kitchen Updates

Here is a quick pic of Lizzie:
Over the past few weeks, we (meaning Ryan) ripped out our old (and very ugly) kitchen floor (it is one thing to have green and pink cupboards and a total different thing to have clashing green floors). Here is the floor "before":

Here is the tiled floor "after" - what a difference! The tile is beautiful!

Ryan also ripped out the old ceiling and put up sheet rock. I have some painting to do, etc. but couldn't wait to show you the new floor!

We now have a crawling baby! On Feb 20th, Lizzie made her first deliberate crawl - and is now unstoppable. As you can see above, she can pull up to standing in her packn'play. Time to start babyproofing!

Wedding

It has almost been a week since Lizzie's Aunt Kate and now official Uncle John tied the knot. I am slow to upload pics, but we have been busy (more on that later).

First, to prove that our family knows how to have a good time (especially with an open bar) I present Dan and Uncle Paul:
Lizzie handled the late night pretty well, with only one real crying fussy time - which was solved by letting her push herself backwards on the slippery wood floors (note the baby's breath tucked into her 5 pony tails - very festive):

She was also distracted when I gave her her own shoe to play with (she doesn't walk yet, just starting to crawl really, so whats the point of shoes if not as toys?):

I am lacking a few important people in these blogs (namely the bride and groom and Dad, etc) but I am sure more of those pics will appear when we get the professional photos back (my hands were busy holding my wine glass and/or the baby for the balance of the night).

On the Sunday morning after the wedding, we went to a late brunch at Kate and John's house to celebrate again with family and in the evening after Lizzie was asleep, Ryan and I completely emptied out our kitchen. First thing Monday morning Ryan and Brian ripped out the kitchen ceiling and ripped up the ugly old floors. We now have sheetrock and tile in their place, though not 100% finished (we have been going out to eat a lot these days as we have very limited access to our kitchen stove until the tile is really done). I will post a few before and after pics when the "after" is a little further along. Everything looks great so far!

Happy 21st

February 21st is a big day in our family - this is the day Ryan and I got engaged (I think it was 6 years ago? Could that be right?) and the day we first got the call that Lizzie's birth mom had picked our profile and now the day that Kate and John are getting married! I must be trying to make up for my blogging absence :) Or maybe I am working in Bangor this week and enjoying a shorter commute than I had in January. These are from tonight's bath time - Lizzie loves a good bath! (Just pretend I am not already in my PJs at 7:30 on a Tuesday - never happened).
