Friday

Since Friday is one of my non-working days, I was able to find a few minutes to get the pictures off of my camera. Week 1 of work is done - so far so good!

Here are Ryan and Lizzie last weekend at the Winterport music festival - despite Lizzie's look, we had a great time :)

Lizzie has started outgrowing her 3 month clothing (luckily her cute dresses still fit) and is easing into her 6 month stuff. She has more warm stuff in the 6 month size, which is good news with the weather we have been having this week. Tonight I made chocolate chip cookies (actually vegan carob chip cookies, but you get the idea). Lizzie and Ryan were a big help! Lizzie was very interested in what was happening in the mixer.

This was my first attempt with this recipe - they are delicious!

August

It is hard to believe that it is already August! I have been hoping that July would hold on a little longer as August means going back to work for me. I start back on Monday and will be going back for 3 days a week (thank goodness - I can't imagine going back to full time right now). This will help us avoid daycare at this point, maintain health insurance (you should read Ryan's latest blog post for a reminder of why our family needs health insurance), and allow me at least partial stay-at-home mom status.

Lizzie and I have enjoyed my last full week home by going shopping for work clothes, going to Lincolnville beach with family, going to book club, and doing a lot of playing. Here are a few Lizzie pics for those that need their Lizzie fix:

Lizzie Pic & update

This very cute pic is from Danny's phone - as you may be able to tell, her arms are in motion. Lizzie unofficially weighs over 13 pounds now - that is more than double her birth weight! She is still sleeping fairly well (when we are able to get home before her bedtime). She is very happy most of the time, but sometimes needs a little reassurance when she is held by people that she is just meeting or hasn't seen recently. We are headed to Newport today to spend more time with Uncle Dan before he heads home. Then likely a swim in the lake if it gets a little warmer this afternoon.

Anniversary

Four years ago today, before Lizzie was a twinkle in our eyes, Ryan and I were married. What great years they have been! Now we are off to celebrate!

Here are a few more Lizzie pics. She is doing very well these days - today Kate and I (with Mom's help) had a yard sale in Newport - Lizzie helped from the shade of the building, mostly by sleeping peacefully. This cute dress was perfect for the heat (and look at those long legs - she is growing so fast)! She is 12 weeks old as of last Tuesday (though the 3 month mark is not until the 22nd) and just as the doctor said, as soon as she hit 12 weeks, she started sleeping more. Much to her parents relief, for 5 nights in a row, Lizzie has been sleep for 6 or 7 hour stretches! It really makes such a difference!
I love this close-up look of Lizzie - Ryan thinks she looks contemplative. I think that makes sense as we were sitting on the lawn when I took this and she had been staring at the leaves on the trees and the sky. It seems she is minutes from asking me "why is the sky blue?".

This last one is just to balance out the pictures above with a happy face. She is sitting up in places (with support) a lot these days and seems a little thrilled by it. In other big news, Lizzie almost rolled from her back to her stomach tonight. She got so very close - almost all the way over. She has rolled from her stomach to her back before (that happened, very accidentally, over a month ago) but this seems more purposeful and grownup!

Long time no blog! With the heat of summer, we have been spending less time at home, so I haven't uploaded pictures in awhile. Lizzie is doing really well -she is finally getting to a more regular schedule.
